Mixology 101

This is one of the most essential barware you can own! The primary use of a shaker is to mix liquid with ice, shake vigorously, and pour it back out. When you shake a cocktail, it harmonizes the different consistencies and combines all the flavours, creating one delicious blend!

Don't have one? All you need is something that can be sealed (and easily opened).
Hacks:Mason Jar, water bottle, protein shakers
Bar Spoon
A bar spoon is a long handled spoon that is used for stirring or layering ingredients. They are typically made of stainless steel to provide greater balance, strength and not impact the flavour of the drink.  A bar spoon stirs the drinks thoroughly, but delicately. They have long handles to allow you to flexibly rotate in small circles around the glass.

Don't have one? You can use something that has a long handle.
Hacks: Butter Knife, Chopsticks, Regular Spoon. If you’re going to use a regular spoon, make sure you are going gently and in circular motion in only 1 direction.
A cocktail strainer is typically made of metal and is used to remove ice, pulp, herb leaves and any other chunky bits in a cocktail.

Don't have one? Any fine mesh strainer will work here!
Hack: tea strainer
A muddler is used to gently crush ingredients to release juices and oils. A muddler should be long enough to reach the bottom of the glass so the fruit or herb flavours can be released before pouring the cocktail.

Don't have one? You can use something that can be pressed with.
Hacks: The backend (handle) of a wooden spoon, mortar and pestle, rolling pin
